This course introduces students to the fundamental principles of mechanics as applied to engineering systems. Topics include the study of forces, moments, equilibrium of particles and rigid bodies, kinematics and kinetics of motion, work and energy, impulse and momentum. Emphasis is placed on problem-solving techniques and the application of Newton’s laws to real-world mechanical and structural systems.
