This course introduces students to the fundamental principles of hydrology and groundwater flow, essential for civil engineering applications. It covers the hydrological cycle, precipitation, evaporation, infiltration, runoff, and surface water flow analysis. Students will also explore groundwater occurrence, movement, and aquifer properties, including Darcy’s law, well hydraulics, and groundwater resource management. The course integrates theoretical concepts with practical applications such as hydrological modeling, water balance calculations, and groundwater exploration techniques. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with the knowledge to analyze hydrological data and design sustainable water management systems in engineering projects.
