This course designed to expose students to the knowledge in modern methods of solving problems leading to design from a basic mathematical perspective.

Topics include limits, continuity and derivatives of functions, including trigonometric functions, implicit functions, application of derivatives, logarithmic and exponential functions and their derivatives.  Curve sketching and partial derivatives, total derivatives, integration of function including polynomial, trigonometric, logarithmic and exponential functions, integration by parts, definite integral, double integral, Polynomial interpolation, interpolation error, Numerical integration using trapezium rule and Simpson’s Rule.
